City of Rocks

Rob had the opportunity to interpret for a rock climbing class at the City of Rocks this last weekend. This is where several wagon trains came through on the California trail. The wagon trail is still there and you can also see one plae where the wheels cut ruts into the rocks. It is a beautiful place if you like rocks. These pictures are of HUGE rocks, 100's of feet high. There was one man climbing Elephant rock but you cannot see him in the picture.
Above is Elephant Rock, it actually looks like an elephant.

These rock formations are far away and you can see the valley behind them to the right. It was a great view. The wagon trains would come across that valley just before they hit the massive cliffs.

very interesting. I have lived in Idaho most of my life and was not aware of this place. You have had some interesting experiences with classes. How was your classes, Emma?
