You want what? Shots!?

Cosette has now officially graduated from preschool. She is so excited to start Kindergarten in the Fall. She can hardly contain her excitement. In fact, she's been so excited, she knew she couldn't go to school until she got her shots. For a week she asked me when her doctor's appointment was going to be so she could "get her shots for Kindergarten". She wasn't even deterred by the fact she watched her brothers get shots two days before. That day at the doctor's finally came and she went bouncing into the doctor's office just as happy as could be. Four shots later, she had tears in her eyes, but she was going to Kindergarten!!!

Birthdays

Emma's birthday is May 16th and Isaac's is May 17th. Since Emma turned 27 this year, she didn't feel the need for a big celebration. We took the kids to the zoo, Farmer's Market, and Costco. (I noticed Ethan doesn't make it into many pictures when he's in the stroller. We'll have to remember that...)

Isaac, however, had a nice present opening session and a birthday cake with his name on it.

We started a tradition with the kids last year that for their third birthday and every birthday there after, they will receive a bouquet of balloons that total their age for the year. Isaac was thrilled with his three balloons!

May

Cosette's preschool class took a trip to the LifeFlight helicopter here in Pocatello. Isaac even got to be buckled in.

We were sitting downstairs watching TV when this bird flew down the chimney. Rob managed to catch it between the mesh and the glass, put his gloved hand in, and pull it out. When we took it outside, it tried flying back into the door.

The one time all my kids will voluntarily do "homework"...

Hair cuts and Bike rides

"See Dad, this is how you ride a bike. Don't be scared!"

Cosette learned how to ride a bike Thursday. It was peer pressure that did it for her. I watch a 6-yr-old boy who convinced Cosette to try going down the hill in the backyard. It worked.
Ethan and Dad chilling in the hammock.

Isaac does not like his hair cut. That's why he looks like a rag-a-muffin with his bowl cut. I must admit, I like the shaggy look on him, but it was time to cut it for the summer. We got all excited and I ran the clippers through his hair once, and Isaac was done. We fought to get the haphazard buzz-cut that we could. Ethan, on the other hand, loved it! He liked the vibrating clippers on his head and would laugh.

City of Rocks

Rob had the opportunity to interpret for a rock climbing class at the City of Rocks this last weekend. This is where several wagon trains came through on the California trail. The wagon trail is still there and you can also see one plae where the wheels cut ruts into the rocks. It is a beautiful place if you like rocks. These pictures are of HUGE rocks, 100's of feet high. There was one man climbing Elephant rock but you cannot see him in the picture.
Above is Elephant Rock, it actually looks like an elephant.

These rock formations are far away and you can see the valley behind them to the right. It was a great view. The wagon trains would come across that valley just before they hit the massive cliffs.

Kid Wisdom

  • 6.9.15 (Sitting in Emma's office writing a string of abc's) Mom: You have to put a tail on the "u". S: You doesn't have a tail, Reesy has a tail.
  • 6.8.15 Isaac: You know, the grass-watering hose thing? Ethan: You mean sprinkler? Isaac: Yes, the sprinkler.
  • 4.1.15 S: I not sleepy {yawn}. Emma: You just yawned. S: What's "yawn" mean? Emma: That you're sleepy. S: I not sleepy!
